Professional Activities
Christine J. Mingie practices regulatory and commercial law. She routinely represents clients on securities regulation, gambling control regulation, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing reporting obligations, management of natural resources, litigation strategies and other business matters.
Her law practice includes matters in the gaming, financial services, real estate, entertainment, energy and resource management fields.
Christine has a broad range of experience, including regulatory registrations, permitting and approvals, hearings relating to various regulatory matters, securities law regulation and compliance reviews, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing reporting requirements and audits, advising on and drafting compliance plans and risk assessments, advising on regulatory aspects of a broad range of corporate transactions, advising on public policy constitutional and international law matters relating to gambling and gaming-related matters and advising on arbitration and litigation strategies. Her clients have represented a variety of sectors, including the gaming industry, financial services sector, real estate sector, US and Canadian oil and gas industry, mining and entertainment industry.
Christine has an extensive list of appointments and professional activities. She is a former treasurer of the Association des Juristes D’expression Francaise in British Columbia and is an appointed member of the Congress of Fellows for the Centre for International Legal Studies based in Austria.
Christine authored the Canadian legal text Annotated Commercial Arbitration Act and International Commercial Arbitration Act, published by Continuing Legal Education. She also teaches at legal education programs for the Canadian Bar Association, Continuing Legal Education, and The Canadian Institute. She was an Adjunct Professor in arbitration law at the University of British Columbia Law Faculty.
Christine has also instructed at various in-house legal programs presented to clients.
